Overview
The United Nations OCHA was looking to update its brand guidelines and wanted to find new solutions to communicate through various language barriers. Through the design updates, we were able to implement them to other brand collateral such as brochures and infographics.
Goal
We wanted to update the current icon set to be consistent and easily understandable. After finalizing the style, I was responsible for sketching and digitally rendering the icons to be part of the new icon library.
-
Icon Standardization
With the many languages and communication barriers, the UN wanted to tackle this challenge through semiotics. I was tasked with standardizing the library of icons in order to maintain a consistent brand style. This was a prerequisite to developing the United Nations OCHA brochure within the following months and the standardizing of their infographics/reports.
-
The UN OCHA Brochure
During my responsibilities redesigning the United Nation’s icon set, I was tasked with supplementing the brochure with icons in addition to proofreading and providing other visual assets.
-
Infographic Standardization
To effectively communicate and further help readers process information quicker, I was tasked with standardizing new infographic systems as a solution to the standard approaches.
