Rutgers University – School of Public Health

The Nurture NJ initiative is dedicated to improving maternal and child health outcomes across New Jersey. I was entrusted with full design control of key deliverables, including a Paid Leave Policy Brief, a Policy Analysis Report, and a Website Banner. Despite navigating bureaucratic layers of review with both Rutgers and government officials, I successfully delivered polished materials under tight deadlines.

My Responsibilities:

  • Spearheaded the design and execution of all project deliverables, ensuring alignment with Nurture NJ’s mission and branding

  • Developed visual strategies to simplify complex data, using infographics, charts, and clean layouts

  • Managed feedback loops with multiple stakeholders, maintaining quality and meeting rapid turnaround times

  • Ensured consistency with Rutgers and government branding standards while introducing a fresh, modern aesthetic

Impact:

These designs effectively communicated Nurture NJ’s critical initiatives to diverse audiences, driving awareness and supporting advocacy for improved maternal and child health policies.

Designs on Rutgers Site

Tools:

Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote, Powerpoint

Project Overview:

Design a policy brief along with a supporting website banner for the Rutgers School of Public Health’s upcoming Nurture NJ Evaluation website. The design should incorporate elements from both Rutgers and NJ Nurture.

Conclusion:

This project involved creating a Paid Leave Policy Brief and a supporting website banner for Rutgers School of Public Health’s Nurture NJ Evaluation. The key challenge was navigating reviews from multiple stakeholders while designing an unbranded piece that balanced Rutgers and Nurture NJ elements. With no clear design references and text-heavy content, I overcame these obstacles by developing fresh, innovative visuals. I created multiple iterations to highlight key points and ensure visual clarity while aligning with the project’s goals. This approach streamlined approvals and delivered a polished, cohesive design under tight deadlines.
